Terms and Conditions

Supervisor's Permission
Student authors must provide permission from their academic supervisor before editing can begin.

Turnaround Time
The minimum turnaround time for a document up to 110 double-spaced pages is approximately seven days. A shorter turnaround time may be possible to negotiate.

Confidentiality
I will not reproduce, share, or show your work to anyone. I will destroy hard copies and electronic files of your document upon completion of our work together. Files can be transferred using Dropbox, or if you prefer, email.

Payment
A $100 deposit is required at the time of the contract signing. The balance will be invoiced upon completion of the work and due within 30 days of receiving the invoice. Payment will be in Canadian currency.

Editing Ethics
I will flag the changes that need to be made, or suggest alternative wording, but it is your responsibility to make the changes yourself. I will not make changes directly in your document.

Proactivity
Students in a masters or doctorate program will be accustomed to taking ownership and responsibility for their academic progress. Some proactive actions you can take at this point in your scholarly practice are:
  • Spell check your document before sending it to your editor
  • Run a plagiarism check program such as TurnItIn
  • Advise your academic supervisor or committee that you are working with an editor
